And was it legal?The military wanting to do more than launch spy satellites into orbit would have been the best thing possible for space science and space exploration. The USAF would never have accepted $10,000/lb costs, and would have forced it lower. With forty time's NASA's current budget they'd have had no choice but to do so.So please, explain why launch costs closer to $100/kg would have been a bad thing' for the rest of the world?
